There's still time to throw an office holiday party that isn't lame...

That's right, I still have some open time slots in these weeks leading up to Christmas and New Year's.  Contact me now for the best rates and selections of dates!

For these and all of the major holidays (heck, even some of the minor ones), I've got extensive libraries of appropriate music from which I can generate a unique playlist tailored just for your event!

So, even if you got stuck with the planning "late in the game", and might be feeling a little overwhelmed, having the perfect music there will go a long way in making your event feel spectacular for all of your guests.  Be sure to e-mail, text or call me soon!

Car Show this week!

It's official ~ I'll be the DJ again this year for the Danville Hot Summer Nights Classic Car Show.  You can find me at the north end of Hartz Ave., right in front of Mountain Mike's Pizza.

In addition to all classic hot rods and other vehicles up to the year 1976, this year's event will also feature all model years of the Ford Mustang and the Pontiac GTO - both cars are celebrating their 50th anniversary in 2014!

Please come by, say hello, or maybe request your favorite song from the "muscle car" era!  And be sure to enjoy the wonderful food and beverages from Mountain Mike's while you're there!

A unique playlist, tailored just for your event

Imagine, if you will, that you've received an e-vite to an event.  It might be an Art installation, a fundraiser, a large reception, or some other similar function.  Upon arriving, you see that guests are eating from small plates ~ it looks delicious, and the variety seems quite enticing.  For our example, it's possible that all of the food is either quite visible yet just out of reach to the guests, or it is all tantalizingly kept as a mystery, just beyond a set of swinging doors.

Either way, the food is being brought out continually to guests by either the chef herself or one of her several assistants.  Most of it appears to be familiar fare, or at least a unique approach in either its presentation or preparation.  Some of it seems to be somewhat connected or related to the theme of the event in some way, at least more so than some other items.  There are the expected finger sandwiches, kabobs, cheese and cracker options, flatbread and pizza variations, cut fruit, and multiple other selections.  You don't partake of every item, but there are several versions of your favorites that you just can't resist.  In time, the selections begin to transition to be more dessert-ish in nature.

At some point, perhaps even after you've left the building, it occurs to you that the DJ over in the corner was doing something parallel with his music.  From the earlier part of the event, the music subtly but steadily transitioned over the course of the evening ~ from "the Greatest Generation" to the Summer of Love era, on to things of a more recent vintage.  You recall that unexpected "deep cuts" or forgotten hits were played rather than the "same ol' same ol' " stuff you usually hear at these things.  He even played a handful of classic TV commercials and movie dialog and sound effects to transition between songs.  Just around the time dessert was being brought out, the music had a much more pop/upbeat feel.  It was all quite entertaining, you remember.  But it also was all in the background ~ the DJ rarely, if ever, drew attention to himself or his performance.

Well, you don't have to imagine this, my friends!  (At least not the music part.)  That's what you get when you hire me!  I'm currently crafting no less than 5 unique playlists for upcoming events, all of which have different themes or requests by the event organizers:  a July 4 barbecue (equal parts musical travelogue/summer sunshine/Top 40/patriotic favorites); a street fest that is part chic fashion show, part Pirate-themed scavenger hunt; a wild-west themed street fest; a wedding reception featuring modern country music...  Well, you get the idea.  So, what kind of event can you and I start planning together?

The next chance to meet your DJ

Although the next few weeks will be busy for me with graduation parties and weddings, these are typically private events.  For those of you considering hiring me, summertime is a great opportunity to come out and meet me and see me in action!

I've got a July 4 homeowners association BBQ lined up, so if you're lucky enough to live in our neighborhood, I'll see you there!  Beyond that, I'm booked for 2 of the upcoming street festivals in downtown Danville - the first is on July 10 (with a pirate theme), followed by one on August 7 (with a wild west theme).  Please note that these are Thursday evenings.  There's also the possibility that I might see you at one of the area car shows ~ and Danville's event schedule goes well into Autumn, so keep checking back here!

Wine and Chocolate? I'll be there!

Come join me Thursday evening in front of Danville Chocolates (corner of Prospect Ave and Front St) as part of the spring 2014 Wine & Chocolate Stroll!  In addition to the incredible, sweet samples, I'll be there with a tasty mix of music that's just right for the occasion!  You probably won't get another chance to meet your DJ out in the open air again until July, so make plans to get your ticket(s) now!
