It's official ~ I'll be the DJ again this year for the Danville Hot Summer Nights Classic Car Show. You can find me at the north end of Hartz Ave., right in front of Mountain Mike's Pizza.
In addition to all classic hot rods and other vehicles up to the year 1976, this year's event will also feature all model years of the Ford Mustang and the Pontiac GTO - both cars are celebrating their 50th anniversary in 2014!
Please come by, say hello, or maybe request your favorite song from the "muscle car" era! And be sure to enjoy the wonderful food and beverages from Mountain Mike's while you're there!

A unique playlist, tailored just for your event
Imagine, if you will, that you've received an e-vite to an event. It might be an Art installation, a fundraiser, a large reception, or some other similar function. Upon arriving, you see that guests are eating from small plates ~ it looks delicious, and the variety seems quite enticing. For our example, it's possible that all of the food is either quite visible yet just out of reach to the guests, or it is all tantalizingly kept as a mystery, just beyond a set of swinging doors.
Either way, the food is being brought out continually to guests by either the chef herself or one of her several assistants. Most of it appears to be familiar fare, or at least a unique approach in either its presentation or preparation. Some of it seems to be somewhat connected or related to the theme of the event in some way, at least more so than some other items. There are the expected finger sandwiches, kabobs, cheese and cracker options, flatbread and pizza variations, cut fruit, and multiple other selections. You don't partake of every item, but there are several versions of your favorites that you just can't resist. In time, the selections begin to transition to be more dessert-ish in nature.
At some point, perhaps even after you've left the building, it occurs to you that the DJ over in the corner was doing something parallel with his music. From the earlier part of the event, the music subtly but steadily transitioned over the course of the evening ~ from "the Greatest Generation" to the Summer of Love era, on to things of a more recent vintage. You recall that unexpected "deep cuts" or forgotten hits were played rather than the "same ol' same ol' " stuff you usually hear at these things. He even played a handful of classic TV commercials and movie dialog and sound effects to transition between songs. Just around the time dessert was being brought out, the music had a much more pop/upbeat feel. It was all quite entertaining, you remember. But it also was all in the background ~ the DJ rarely, if ever, drew attention to himself or his performance.
Well, you don't have to imagine this, my friends! (At least not the music part.) That's what you get when you hire me! I'm currently crafting no less than 5 unique playlists for upcoming events, all of which have different themes or requests by the event organizers: a July 4 barbecue (equal parts musical travelogue/summer sunshine/Top 40/patriotic favorites); a street fest that is part chic fashion show, part Pirate-themed scavenger hunt; a wild-west themed street fest; a wedding reception featuring modern country music... Well, you get the idea. So, what kind of event can you and I start planning together?

The next chance to meet your DJ
Although the next few weeks will be busy for me with graduation parties and weddings, these are typically private events. For those of you considering hiring me, summertime is a great opportunity to come out and meet me and see me in action!
I've got a July 4 homeowners association BBQ lined up, so if you're lucky enough to live in our neighborhood, I'll see you there! Beyond that, I'm booked for 2 of the upcoming street festivals in downtown Danville - the first is on July 10 (with a pirate theme), followed by one on August 7 (with a wild west theme). Please note that these are Thursday evenings. There's also the possibility that I might see you at one of the area car shows ~ and Danville's event schedule goes well into Autumn, so keep checking back here!

Wine and Chocolate? I'll be there!
Come join me Thursday evening in front of Danville Chocolates (corner of Prospect Ave and Front St) as part of the spring 2014 Wine & Chocolate Stroll! In addition to the incredible, sweet samples, I'll be there with a tasty mix of music that's just right for the occasion! You probably won't get another chance to meet your DJ out in the open air again until July, so make plans to get your ticket(s) now!

The RIGHT music for ANY occasion!
Whatever kind of event you're planning, I've already got your soundtrack! Just after the holidays, it's Awards Season! Maybe you'll be having your own red carpet event - or an Oscars / movie themed party.
Maybe your company has an upcoming recognition ceremony, promotional event or awards presentation that's still looking for a theme. Think outside the box!
It's time to stop thinking about a DJ for just wedding receptions, birthdays and holiday parties (although I still love doing those!). I've got so much more to offer than just background music and popular hit songs! The hit songs I do have go from last week all the way back across every decade to 1910! And many different genres are represented.
I also can provide sound effects, movie & TV show themes and dialogue, novelty songs and much more. If you're looking for something less obtrusive, I can simply create one or more playlists for you, which can be used to play in the background.
Give me a call today, and let's start planning something terrific together!

Come out and support this worthy cause!
I've had the privilege of being asked to provide music for this upcoming event - a fundraiser for The Sonrise Equestrian Foundation. Sonrise provides horse- related therapeutic services, free of charge, to children ages 6-18 who are facing social, emotional and physical challenges. I also have the privilege of knowing some of the volunteers, and have also worked with this organization in the past. Both are top-notch! This is a VERY worthy cause!
Visit the contact info shown on this flyer to find out whether tickets are still available for this event.

The next chance to meet your DJ!
Business has been pretty steady for me recently! I've been fortunate enough to have provided music for a couple of the downtown Danville "Thursday Night Street Festivals", a couple of birthday parties, one of the "Hot Summer Nights" classic car shows (also in downtown Danville), and a wedding!
Heading into this next weekend (on August 22), I'll be stationed over at The Rose Garden shopping center, just on the south end of the downtown area. The occasion will be the 10th annual "Art & Wine Stroll". This event will actually be happening at 3 different locales, including the Hartz & Prospect "core" of downtown, as well as the Livery shopping center. An iconic Trolley will be shuttling attendees between the 3 areas.
You can purchase your ticket and wine glass for $25 online by going to discoverdanvilleca.com. If there are any tickets remaining on the night of the event, they can be purchased at The Cottage Jewel on west Prospect Ave. A handful of craft breweries will be represented as well, mainly at the Rose Garden stop, which is where I'll be set up. Organizers have told me that while the ladies attending might be more interested in the wine and shopping, the husbands might be more interested in those craft beers - - so come prepared to hear some music that leans a little more toward the classic rock vibe!

A stroll thru downtown Danville...
Warmer weather has returned, and with it, the start of the outdoor event season! One of the first upcoming events is the spring Wine & Chocolate stroll in downtown Danville on May 9. I'll be there doing a little emceeing and providing some background music.
I've also been asked to provide a similar role for the Thursday Night Street Festivals happening on July 11 and August 8, as well as the summer Wine Stroll, which is on August 22. Complete details for each of these events can be found at the Discover Danville Association web page or facebook page, and/or at the Town of Danville website.
These outdoor public events are a perfect opportunity to come meet me in person and watch me in action for a bit. And Danville's great downtown area makes it an ideal location, as well.
I hope to see you there!

Imagine...
If your next event were to have a light show along with the perfect music, wouldn't that just be WICKED AWESOME?!?
We do more than just play music.
Sound system/speaker rental, background music, playlist generation (themed events), sound effects library, and more.
Oh - and we also have the most popular songs from each of the last 10+ decades. Let's start planning your next event!

The old is gone - the new has come!
A new year is filled with opportunity. New chances. New challenges. And for many people, a new attitude about facing these opportunities.
While looking forward to the opportunities of 2013, I want to thank all of the people who helped make 2012 such a good year - party planners, vendors, service personnel, event staff, and all of the proverbial "Uncle Frank"s who got up the courage to get out there on the dance floor and have a good time. I live for those "Uncle Frank" moments.
Here's hoping the 2013 is filled with many more.

Aaaaah... Christmas!
If you (like me) have less-than-perfect vision, and rely on corrective lenses to help you see clearly, doesn't it sometimes seem like all of the lights at this time of year appear to be that much prettier when you remove your glasses (or contacts)?
I almost pity the poor folks with 2 good eyes who have to go through a process of "cross your eyes, and then close one of them - is it still blurry?". SO much easier with myopia!
Merry Christmas, everyone!

Come meet your DJ!
The place to be on a Thursday evening in Summer is right here on the streets of downtown Danville! There's usually something pretty interesting going on, whether it's a classic car show, a wine & food tasting, or in this case, one of the Thursday Night Street Festivals.
I'll be there again as well this year, serving as the emcee for the Kids Zone, and playing alot of fun music besides! Whether it's something as classic as "Snow White and the Seven Dwarves" or something as recent as "Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted", I've got the soundtrack of your childhood - even if you're a grandparent!
Of course, that's true no matter what type of event you're planning, or whatever the theme is going to be. With my large and diverse collection of songs and sound effects, the soundtrack for your event is going to be unique!
The Thursday Night Street Festivals are scheduled for July 12 and August 9, and I'll be there for both of them. For more information, visit discoverdanvilleca.com.
